My opinion about this article is, I really had a hard time understanding it. I know it was mentioned in class that it may be hard to understand but the amount of times I had to read over passages just made me dislike the article. I didn’t like it in the first place. I basically disagreed with the whole article. I believe that your life can be a narrative and it doesn’t need to have a certain structure. Your life is a story and it can also be a narrative. A narrative is a story but said in a way that’s more personal. Narrative was talked about in so many different ways in this article. I do believe that we as people can have many people inside of us. It does sound weird to say but I would say each personality is like a mini version of a person. And how different personalities react can make more people. Certain personalities can make us different people, how they over power us such as anger, or anxiousness can completely change who we are. We are physically the same person but our minds change and different emotions come out and show us who we are in that moment. I found his wording to be absurd and too difficult to understand, it could just be the mood I’m in while reading this but I really despise this article. Like I had to make myself read it because I wanted to give up on it since I thought it didn’t match my opinion. I know you have to read things you don’t like but maybe it was the state my mind was in that made me dislike it so much. I just can’t even think of putting my opinion I just don’t like this article and it was just painful to read.

Ella, I am so PROUD of you that you stuck with this essay. Good job!!!! I SO appreciate your honesty, and I encourage you to bring this energy and honesty to your paper–which will give you the opportunity to argue with Strawson.
I enjoyed reading this passage, in particular, “It does sound weird to say but I would say each personality is like a mini version of a person. And how different personalities react can make more people. ”
What a creative and interesting way to understand personality. What do you think Beck would have to say about this?
